Fashion Show Art

Dwelling Place is looking for several local artists to showcase their work at our 2013 There's No Place Like Home Fashion Show: Where Fashion Meets Art!

This annual fundraiser benefits two Dwelling Place housing communities:  Liz’s House and Bridge Street Place.  For more than 20 years, Liz’s House has welcomed and brought comfort to women and children facing the enormous challenges surrounding homelessness, and more recently, Bridge Street Place has become a welcoming solace of permanent housing for female survivors of domestic violence.

This year, in order to more fully express our theme of ‘Where Fashion Meets Art,’ we will be adding a new ‘HOME’ themed art exhibit to the event.  Today, we invite you to participate in There’s No Place Like Home: Where Fashion Meets Art with a submission to our juried exhibit.

In order to submit your artwork, please follow the criteria below:

  • Fill out the Artist Submission Form.
  • Please submit only pieces that are consistent with our ‘HOME’ theme, all others will not be considered.
  • If you don’t have a current piece that fits our ‘HOME’ theme, but would like to create one, please include: One or more digital images that are indicative of your work AND a detailed explanation, and/or a sketch, explaining what you plan on creating.
  • Email the Artist Submission Form and digital images of your entry, or proposal to

If chosen, your work will be displayed in the Goei Center during our event, during which time our approximately 300 guests will have the opportunity to view and purchase your work.  The sale of your work is subject to a 30% commission which will go towards the beneficiaries of the fundraiser.  It is our hope that this exhibit will provide an annual opportunity for local, community artists to display their work.  Please know your participation will add a new and exciting element to the event, which will most certainly help to ensure its success.
